The project is made up of 3 phases with the first phase currently running on track to be up and running for August 2017. To ensure minimum disruption to the current emergency department, main contractors IHP had to divert the ambulances during delivery of the 69 modules. MTX and IHP had to work extremely closely with the Trust and team of Paramedics to ensure the diversion was safe, practical and efficient. Traffic Marshalls and Banksmen were appointed to man certain positions on the diverted ambulance route, making the delivery controlled, safe and successful. In the following 11 days of lifting ambulances were unaffected by the construction works and there was no need for any further diversions.
Clare Lowe Director of Estates and Facilities had this to say about the delivery; “Fantastic team effort so well done to all concerned.”
