Below are details of the executive board which oversees the operations of MTX.

Ged Hartley - Chairman

Ged has been involved in the construction industry since leaving Grammar school at the age of 16. He commenced his working career as a Draughtsman and spent a lot of his time working in Europe and the Far East. Since 1983 Ged has specialised in the design and construction of Healthcare facilities, as well as ripening facilities in the fresh produce industry. In the late 80’s Ged developed a forced air system for ripening bananas and stone fruits and held a patent for this system in the USA and North America for 20 years.

In 2002, along with his eldest son David, Ged set up MTX Contracts LTD. In 2004 Ged was elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council. In 2016 Ged passed the role of Managing Director down to his eldest son and became Chairman.

David has been a key part of the MTX business since conception and has progressed in parallel with the company’s history, initially as a Project Manager, progressing to Commercial Director and now Managing Director. David attended Stockport College and at the age of 16 he left to pursue his career in construction by commencing an apprenticeship in Engineering, before setting up MTX Contracts LTD in 2002.

During David’s time at MTX he has seen the company grow from an organisation of 9 to over 50 operatives both office and site based. The company has seen 1 office move and the implementation of the prestigious NHS Shared Business Services framework for the supply of general bespoke buildings as well as the supply of Healthcare and Education facilities, which was successfully managed by David.

Steven Hartley - Construction Director

Steven has been in the construction industry for over 17 years. Having a passion for construction since the age of 16, Steven completed a HNC in Building Services at Stockport College, before going on to running his own successful Building Maintenance Company in 2000. Steven then joined MTX in 2006 as a Project Manager and was responsible for the delivery of Healthcare and Education projects from conception through to completion.

Steven advanced to Associate Director in 2014 and then Construction Director in 2016, after overseeing the successful design and build of over 30 projects in both the Education and Healthcare sectors, including the ‘Built in Quality’ award winning 30 bed dementia friendly ward, delivered to Walsall Manor Hospital.

Dave Peacock - Contracts Director

David has been with MTX since its formation in 2002. Prior to that he completed a HNC in Building Services in Stockport College, alongside fellow Director Steven Hartley. David began his career at M TX as a Project Engineer, progressing to a Project Manager before becoming Associate Director in 2014. Having been with the company since its initiation, David has experienced all of MTX’s greatest achievements and has seen it grow and flourish with success over the years.

David is currently Contracts Director and in addition to his sole responsibility of the contracts, his roles and responsibilities include employment, supporting the Accounting Department and Quantity Surveyors, being the senior representative for MTX in Client meetings and an overall presence on all MTX sites.

Scott McCaskie - M&E Engineering Director

Scott started his construction career fresh from school where he began a modern apprenticeship as a trainee draughtsman, as well as achieving his HNC in Building Services Engineering at Stockport College in 2004. Soon after its formation in 2002, Scott joined MTX as a Project Engineer before shortly advancing to a Project Manager. Having proved his experience and talent in both drawing office and site, Scott then became Associate Director in 2014, before achieving his current position of Director of M&E Engineering in 2016.

Scott oversees the project delivery teams within MTX and is heavily involved with the Clients and their Project Teams. Scott was responsible for the design and build of a new mortuary facility at Glan Clwyd Hospital which was awarded the Denbighshire County Council Building Control Excellence Award in the best Healthcare/Community project category.

Adam Robertson - Pre-Construction Director

Adam’s passion for construction was evident since school where he went on to graduate from Sheffield University in 2005 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After gaining the key skills necessary for conception and design from his university studies, Adam joined MTX in 2005 initially as a Design Engineer.

Over the years Adam’s works have always remained at the start of every project, focusing on the design and pre-construction phase from which he has gained so much experience and knowledge. Adam became Pre-Construction Manager in 2009 and was responsible for his own team of Bid Managers and Estimators. Due to his proven dedication and passion Adam was awarded a Pre-Construction Directorship in 2016.
