Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital ward development progressing well

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital had a requirement to extend their current services.

MTX have commenced on site to deliver a new three-storey ward block with the first two floors housing an Acute Medical Unit and Acute Stroke Unit.

MTX have provided an off-site solution complete with plant room situated on the 4th floor, connecting into the existing wards via link corridors. The new facility will match the existing, utilising curtain walling and brick slip.

Groundworks have been completed which included piling and over 145 ground beams. Currently the MTX site team are finishing the lift shaft base and installing the crane mat to allow for building delivery, scheduled for the end of this month. In conjunction with this, offsite works are also progressing with 70% complete already. Handover is due early 2020.
