In December 2015 MTX were awarded a contract at Blackpool Teaching Hospital to provide an additional operating theatre.

The refurbishment is to take place within the maternity area of the hospital, forming a new theatre, a dirty utility, a new resus, gowning and prep room and a cleaner’s room. There will also be works to the existing scrub room and strip out works to the dirty utility to form a new prep room.

As the Trust require the existing theatre to be in use while works are being carried out, MTX have carefully created a phasing plan which will allow these works to be carried out with minimal disruption to the existing theatres activities.

The new theatre is due to be completed in June 2016 with an onsite period of 14 weeks.
