Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust chooses MTX Contracts for new Wycombe Hospital facility

TX Contracts Ltd is working with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to develop a landmark new building at the Wycombe Hospital site.

Plans have been approved for a six-storey building designed to enable core services to move out of the current Wycombe Tower Block which is unfit for long-term use.

The new facility will create a state-of-the-art environment for delivering a range of vital services including cardiology, stroke-care, operating theatres and critical care in future phases of the project once further funding has been secured.

Construction is planned to start in early 2026 with the opening of the first new clinical facility - an Endoscopy Department - planned for 2027.

Raghuv Bhasin, interim CEO at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said: “We are thrilled to be able to announce these plans. The Wycombe Hospital site has been in dire need of redevelopment. This will enable us to move critical services out of the tower block and into a purpose-built environment to provide Buckinghamshire residents with best in-class facilities.”

The NHS trust said the development was one of the most ambitious hospital improvements outside of the government's New Hospitals Programme.

MTX Managing Director David Hartley said: “This development will offer huge improvements to the care of patients in Buckinghamshire and enhance the working environment for medical staff.   Our expertise in combining modern methods of construction with advanced project management and our vast experience working with trusts from the planning stage through to completion of the fully compliant building means we can deliver new facilities faster, greener, safer and more cost effectively.”
