Project team hits hospital target

The MTX team proved once again how expert they are at meeting challenging targets when they partnered with staff from United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) and DAY Project Management to walk 40 miles and raise £15,000 for charity.

The modern methods of construction specialist is simultaneously building two new NHS community diagnostic centres (CDCs) at Skegness and Lincoln, and the combined team walked the 40 miles between the two sites over two days.

The walk was in aid of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, and it is hoped the money will fund an interactive miniature ‘Kitten Scanner’ to help children to prepare for an MRI or CT procedure in a playful way. Children who feel more confident and in control are more at ease, which leads to more successful procedures.

Sponsorship for the walkers raised almost £10,000 and MTX made a donation to hit the £15,000 target.

The two new facilities currently under construction are due to open in winter 2024.  They  will offer patients improved access to state-of-the-art diagnostic testing away from busy hospital sites, including CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and echocardiograms.

MTX Managing Director, David Hartley, commented: “The creation of a network of CDCs is a key element in improving access to care and patient experience across the country.  MTX is currently working on a number of these projects and we are delighted that United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust has chosen to partner with MTX for delivery of two new facilities, based on our proven track record of rapid and cost-effective delivery.”
